This incident sparked considerable controversy among his fans and followers, with many expressing concern over the potential influence such behaviour may have, particularly on younger audiences.

The post includes his reflection, emphasizing that the past few months have been an intense period of evolution for him. He articulates that the true beauty of life lies not in its perfection but in its unpredictability.

Tsitsipas's forgettable year

The year 2024 has proven to be difficult for Tsitsipas in terms of personal landmarks and on-court satisfaction. Many fans recognize that this has been one of his toughest seasons since he made his mark on the men’s tennis scene. Although he secured the title at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, this victory fails to overshadow the barriers that have hampered his progress, particularly his inability to qualify for the prestigious Nitto ATP Finals.

"Not being part of the ATP Finals this year was humiliating and taught me the value of resilience. I try to reach it, but I understood that perfection does not exist inside me, and that's okay. Even if you would like to achieve it, it will not come just because that thought exists: the real difference is in the commitment and constant effort you make," Tsitsipas said.

"This year has been a real journey for me, and I find solace in the progress I've made. My mental state has ventured through some dark alleys, and tennis began to fade in my list of priorities. It’s been a complicated chapter in my life—one that I never envisioned. However, I take pride in how I’ve managed these hurdles. Winning in Monte Carlo was unexpectedly joyful; deep down, I harbored doubts about my capacity to clinch the title amidst my struggles," Tsitsipas added.
