The Barcelona Open will be over with the final to be played tomorrow and we will finally see who will be the new champion who will take the Barcelona crown. There have been a lot of surprises in this season already and tomorrow it will end with someone lifting the title and winning a title in the gruelling clay season. There was only one game left to decide who would be competing for the title in the upcoming finale.

The second semi-final was between this season's Monte Carlo champion Stefanos Tsitsipas and surprise knockout player Dusan Lajovic. There was no doubt that this was not only the chance for Tsitsipas to win two consecutive ATP titles, but also to break his Barcelona jinx where he had failed in 3 finals already. Lajovic might not be a high-seeded player but he has come into the tournament with a lot of promise beating higher-seeded competitors in Davidovic Fokina and Alexander Fils. He did have the chance to create another upset in this game.

Tsitsipas reaches fourth final in Barcelona

The Barcelona Open is one of the unluckiest tournaments for Greek talent where he has failed to win his previous three finals. Considering his form though he was definitely one of the favourites to win the tournament.  However, there was a surprising turn of events as it was Lajovic who went on to win the first set winning 7 games to 5 breaking an all-important serve. Tsitsipas was still not ready to give up on his Barcelona dream and went on to win the second set 6-4 to get back into the match. It was another 3rd set decider and it was Tsitsipas who completely dominated the 33-year-old Serbian 6-2 and made his way into his 4th Barcelona Open final.

The 25-year-old Greek will now be up against Norwegian Casper Ruud who also featured in the finals of the Monte Carlo Masters. This is the game where both these players will compete once again for one of the biggest clay titles. There will be two opportunities here where Ruud will be looking to avenge his loss in Monte Carlo and Tsitsipas will finally want to win this tournament that has just slipped from his hands 3 times. Overall this is set to be another iconic final in Barcelona.
