The time for the Grand Slams have begun and this time it is the US Open which all of us are looking forward to. This is after all one of the biggest tournaments and the last Grand Slam event of the season where the players will be looking to get their hands on a major title. This is also the tournament where we all will be looking forward to seeing some of the top stars of the tournament as well.
The one player who we were looking forward to finally get some luck in Grand slam events in Greek number one Maria Sakkari. Though she has been one of the upcoming stars to look forward to her luck in Grand Slam events has not turned out to be the best at all. Sakkari's US Open campaign unfortunately ended in the first round and her hunt for that major title still continues to this day. It safe to say the bad luck continues in this season as well.
Fans give their opinion on the heartbreaking result
This was a heartbreaking ending to the World number 9' tournament whose best in the US Open event was a semi final finish back in 2021. Sakkari in her match against Y F Wang was not looking at her best at all and after losing the first set was not looking comfortable. This is a very sad turn of events since her campaign not only ended in the first round itself, but she also could not finish the game.
The fans on social media have also given their response to this result with a majority of them giving their sympathy to the Greek star. However, there are still some fans on social media who continue to cricticise her fitness and her inability to bring her best game to the Grand Slam events. Overall all we need to do is hope that she gets healthy and makes a quick recovery after this sad result. all the fans will be happy that she gets back to her feet and gets back to business.
