WATCH: Emma Raducanu blazes past round 3 of Wimbledon by beating Maria Sakkari in two straight sets

There have been a lot of great matchups that have lived up to the expectations of this tournament the Alacaraz- Tiafoe match and the Badosa- Kasatkina match were huge examples of this. Though there were a lot of great WTA players in the mix this season, The fans were looking forward to seeing Emma Raducanu perform and come back to form this season. She has also given some iconic performances so far and will be looking to get back to the top by winning more and more games this season.

This time it was a challenge for Emma Raducanu as she was going to be up against World number 9 Maria Sakkari, who might not be in the best of forms but has still had more games than the 21-year-old former US Open champion who was suffering from injuries and was missing out on many tournaments. This was a game where Raducanu had to prove to everyone why she was capable of winning in the major tournaments of the season and competing against the best.

Raducanu makes easy work of Sakkari

There was no doubt that Maria Sakkari was the high-seeded player and top 10 WTA player in the rankings, but this season has been full of disappointment for the Greek number one as she had to face another disappointing loss against Raducanu as she lost the game in two straight sets by scores of 6-2 and 6-3. This was a game dominated by Raducanu and she will be going into round 4 of the tournament right now. It is great to see that the Former top-10-ranked player will continue her journey in this Grand Slam event and hopefully get to the playoffs. This was a great performance from Raducanu who is thriving at her home ground.

This is turning out to be a great tournament for Raducanu as she moves into the second week of the tournament and will be looking to keep her consistency throughout the tournament. She will be playing against Lulu Sun in the next game, who is another surprise package in the tournament. We hope she can continue this good form and go as far in the tournament as she can. With this, it is safe to say that her second Grand Slam title dream is still alive.
