The Roland Garros 2024 is just two days away and all the tennis fans will be excited to see their favourite players compete for Grand Slam glory in what is also termed the Clay season finale as well. This has been one of the most iconic performances that we all have been looking forward to and we all will witness. Just like every other Roland Garros, there are a lot of things that the tournament is looking to promise us.

Going into this tournament there are a lot of things that we all believe to be one of the most memorable moments in the game. This time we will be talking about the upcoming moments that will make this one of the biggest tournaments we will ever see. These moments will be something to celebrate as one of the toughest Grand Slam tournaments in tennis that we all will be looking forward to.

So, here are the top 5 moments to watch out for in the upcoming Roland Garros 2024 which we will be looking forward to:

5. Djokovic might lose world number 1 ranking

djokovic

Novak Djokovic has been holding the number 1 rank for a long time and at the age of 37, he is the oldest player to hold it as well. However, this has not been the best of seasons for the Serbian powerhouse, as he has not won a single title so far and has not played in the finals. There is a need for Djokovic to qualify for the finals in his title defence this season. Though he is still one of the top players, there are a lot of chances that he might lose that spot in this iconic grand slam tournament.

4. Exciting players to watch out for

exciting players

The reason this is set to be another iconic tournament is the number of comeback players and talent who will be featured. The likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who are still one of the top players in the game have missed out on some big tournaments due to injury, but have still shown some great form despite that. There is a chance they will be looking for their first Roland Garros title this season. However, they are not the only players in form since Aryna Sabalenka who has been in great form and will also make sure he gets he sight on her maiden French Open trophy.

3. Swiatek eyeing her French Open three-peat

Another WTA player who will be the favourite this season is the world's number one Iga Swiatek. She might have not got a Grand Slam in Australia, but she has been in impeccable form in this Clay season winning back-to-back titles in Rome and Madrid as well. Swiatek will also go into this tournament as a defending champion since she has won back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023 in this tournament. This will be her chance to achieve a three-peat in Paris which has only been achieved by two players in the WTA. This will be another great achievement we all will be looking forward to.

2. Zverev vs Nadal encounter

nadal zverev

This is set to be one of the biggest clashes that we will get to witness in the first-round clash in the Roland Garros. Who would've thought that we would get the King Of Clay as an unseeded player against an upcoming star in Alexander Zverev? Though Zverev has been in much better form compared to Rafael Nadal, this will still be a great clash to witness. The last time these two faced each other was also in the same tournament two years ago where it was Nadal who was victorious. Though this is not the peak Nadal which we have come to know this season, knowing the support and Nadal's record at this venue, it can still be a battle to look forward to.

1. Nadal's last Roland Garros

The Zverev battle is not the only thing we will be looking forward to, but also Nadal's performance in what will be the last Roland Garros we will ever see. This will be the last time we see the King Of Clay in the tournament that he has been dominating for a long time. The era of 14 Roland Garros titles and great matches will finally be coming to an end which will be missed by everyone who has seen El Nino play and become one of the biggest athletes to grace the court. We will see how Nadal will perform in his final season and see what more he will be able to achieve throughout. We hope to get one final great send-off from who has carried this game for a long time.
