Ahead of the Laver Cup 2025, the Swiss star was asked if he would be willing to play Nadal as a former player. He did not deny the idea and claimed to have played four hours of Tennis in San Fransisco and about half an hour in Los Angeles. While he felt a senior's circuit sounds terrible, Federer claimed a 'Fedal' tour sounds cool.

"Yes, why not? I love Rafa. I played four hours of tennis in San Francisco, and an hour and a half in Los Angeles the other day. I'm playing a lot to stay in shape. I know Rafa is also open to playing tennis. A senior's circuit sounds terrible (laughs), but maybe we could create something like that, the 'Fedal' tour, it would be cool," Federer said in his statement.

The legendary player noted how the Laver Cup was formed to celebrate the legends of the sport. He pointed at the Champions Tour which aimed at the same and added something like it could be formed to involve the recently retired players like Nadal and others.

"One of the reasons I started the Laver Cup was to celebrate the legends of the sport. We already had a veterans' tournament, called the Champions Tour, but I'm sure there's a lot of appetite to see past champions. I could look into that for sure," Federer added.
