Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic, popularly known as the Big 3 of Tennis, are three of the biggest legends the sport has ever seen. Between them, the trio has a whopping 67 Grand Slam titles to their name, from 2003 to 2023. While Federer and Nadal have retired from the sport for good, Djokovic is still playing and challenging younger players in the Men's division.

The US Open, the hard-court Grand Slam tournament, is considered one of the most prestigious Tennis tournaments of all time. All three of Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer have won the US Open at least four times in their careers. Between them, the trio has 13 US Open titles in the 21st century. The tournament has witnessed the most winners in the 21st century than in any other Grand Slam.

Big 3's major finishes at the US Open

Roger Federer 

Federer won his first US Open in 2004, which was the start of an insane winning streak. He won every US Open from 2004 to 2008 and even entered the final in 2009. It was Juan Martin Del Potro who ended his winning streak of 41 matches on the Hard Court Grand Slam, leading to the change of order in the US Open.

He made it to the final again in 2015, but lost to Djokovic. The Swiss star remains the Men's Singles player with the most US Open title wins. No player has a better winning streak at the US Open or more than six consecutive appearances in the final, making him the most successful player in the event.

Rafael Nadal 

The US Open was Nadal's second-most successful Grand Slam destination after Roland Garros. The Spaniard made a name for himself in the hard court tournaments, especially in the early 2010s. The Southpaw entered his first US Open final in 2010 and won it by beating Djokovic. In the following year, he lost to the Serbian in the rematch.

In 2013, Djokovic and Nadal faced each other yet again in the final. The latter had the last laugh over one of his biggest rivals and won his second US Open title. In 2017, he beat Kevin Anderson in the final to win his third US Open title. Two years later, Nadal won his fourth US Open title by beating Daniil Medvedev in the final.

Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic is the joint-second-most successful player at the US Open alongside Nadal and John McEnroe. The Serbian was at his prime in the 2010s, a period in which he won 3 titles and became a runner-up 4 times. The star player won his first US Open title in 2011. Before doing so, he lost in the final to Federer and Nadal in 2007 and 2010, respectively.

In 2012 and 2013, he lost in the final to Andy Murray and Nadal, respectively. While he lost to Stanislas Wawrinka in the 2016 final, he beat Federer and Del Potro in 2015 and 2018 to win his second and third US Open titles, respectively. He lost to Daniil Medvedev in the 2021 final, but won the rematch in 2023 to claim his 4th US Open title.
