The story of Indian tennis has been a mixed bag in its course and though we have seen a lot of talented players come up from the nation has not been on top in the sport at all. We all are proud of the Indian tennis legends such as Leander Paes and Sania Mirza, but even their performances did not take Indian tennis to the top as we are still looking for the one singles star to come up.

The player who the fans of Indian tennis have been relying on is Sumit Nagal who is currently the number one Indian tennis player and has been giving us some great performances so far. In fact, Nagal is World number 73 in the World and has been playing some great tennis even against the top players in the season.

Nagal creates controversy

The Indian team right now is going into the Davis Group stage matches where the first opponent they will face is Sweden. The team for the Davis Cup consists of Nagal, N Sriram Balaji, Niki Poonacha, Siddhart Vishwakarma and Aryan Shah. This team is set to open their account in the ongoing group stage of the tournament. There is even a picture with the team who will be looking to open their account in the tournament, but what has made the headlines right now is Nagal's controversial tweet on the team photo saying " Maybe it’s time to get players in the front row as well?”.

This statement was some criticism from the Indian superstar to the All India Tennis Association (AITA) where the officials and the management are in the front row while the players are at the back. This statement has gone viral on social media as well with some fans agreeing with Nagal over the matter and some fans thinking that the statement was unnecessary from the Indian number one player. This is no doubt one of the boldest and biggest tweets which have made social media go insane.
