The clay season has finally begun and the fans are ready to see some action in the ongoing Monte Carlo masters. This tournament has already given some big surprises and will feature some big names such as Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannick Sinner and Daniil Medvedev. However, there are some iconic players who are not featured in this tournament.
The player everyone wants to perform at the start of this season is Rafael Nadal. The Spanish legend has already established himself as one of the iconic tennis players. Nadal has gone on to win many titles on clay which include 14 French Opens and 11 Monte Carlo masters. It is safe to say that El Nino has etched his name as the king of clay. Unfortunately, the Spaniard has not featured in the clay season so far as he has once again withdrawn from the current Monte Carlo masters. This makes his future in the game look slightly tough in these times.
Nadal hoping to make a comeback in Barcelona
Nadal might not have been actively playing this season, but all is not over for the 22-time grand slam winner. There are sources saying that Nadal will be travelling to Barcelona to start his clay season. This means that Nadal may be planning to play the Barcelona Open which will begin at the end of April this season. We hope these rumours are true as the fans can’t wait to see Nino dominate this season once again.
We know that this is not a fixed decision but we will keep our hopes alive for the legend. The Barcelona Open is another tournament where players have faced the wrath of Nadal in the past as well. Not to mention this will be in his home turf as well along with 12 titles in the past. Everyone wants to see the Spanish star on clay and give one dominant run in the last phase of his career.
