Tennis star Novak Djokovic has maintained his dominating start to the week at the ongoing Brisbane International 2025 presented by Evie. On December 31, the 37-year-old tennis legend eased past home favorite Rinky Hijikata in his first tour-level singles match since October.

Just a day after beginning his 2025 ATP tour season with a doubles win alongside Nick Kyrgios at the ongoing showpiece event, the Serbian earned a convincing 6-3, 6-3 singles win over Hijikata. The star player struck the ball cleanly from his baseline and delivered a 75-minute game inside Pat Rafter Arena.

The 37-year-old tennis star won 81 percent of points behind his first serve against Hijikata, who battled admirably but lacked a few weapons. The Serbian didn't give a breakpoint, as showcased in the stats, as he wrapped up an impressive win to join his family for New Year's Eve celebrations.
