Tennis star Coco Gauff has gotten her revenge on Donna Vekic by 6-4, 6-2, and later acknowledged that she was extra motivated to win their 2025 United Cup game. Just a half year ago, Gauff suffered one of her most heartbreaking losses when she was outplayed by the world number 18 in the Paris Olympics round number 16 early this year crushing her hopes of winning the medal. However, on December 31st, in their first meeting since the Olympics, the world number three took care of the business and didn't allow another upset to happen in this game.
Earlier, after finishing Group A in Sydney with a 2-0 record, the USA team progressed into the quarterfinal stage at the 2025 United Cup.

Speaking about the game here, the 20-year-old started with two early breaks to open a comfortable 4-1 lead. In the fifth game, the star player managed to get one break back, but she didn't give enough time, Kater managed to win the game. Before beating Bekic, Gauff had toppled Leylah Fernandez in her opening game of this showpiece event.
