Novak Djokovic scripts history with 90 plus wins in all four Grand Slams after second-round win at US Open 2024

Olympic champion and winner of 24 Grand Slams, the Serbian Ace, Novak Djokovic becomes the first player to win 90+ matches in all Grand Slams.

Olympic champion, 24-time Grand Slam winner, and one of the greatest the sport of tennis has ever witnessed, Novak Djokovic, the legendary Serbian, has added yet another feather to his long list of achievements. At this point, the word success can be substituted by 'Novak Djokovic ' considering the feats he continues to conquer even at 37. 

The Serbian Tennis star entered Flushing Meadows in 2024 as a defending champion and an Olympic Champion. He had an electrifying start against Radu Albot in round 1.

Djokovic is off to a good start in his Title Defense at the Flushing Meadows

Djokovic shrugged off the challenges of Radu Albot in straight sets - 6-2; 6-2; 6-4 in the opening round of the US Open. In the second round, Djokovic toppled his countrymate Laslo Djere 6-4; 6-4; 2-0. Laslo was not a pushover, as he gave a tough fight to Djokovic throughout the match. 

At one point, Laslo even leads 4-2 in the second set of the tie. However, an unfortunate hip injury forced Laslo to hand a walkover to Djokovic, early in the third set. Before his injury, his fellow Ser Ade Djokovic work hard for each point. Djokovic even had to receive massage for an abdominal problem, after winning the first set.

The Legend of Djokovic continue to grow

Djokovic's victory over Laslo Djere in the second round of the US Open enabled him to become the first tennis player, male or female, to record 90 or more career wins at all four Grand Slam events.

The Serbian Ace now boasts a record of 94 wins in the Australian Open, 96 wins at the French Open, 97 wins at Wimbledon and 90 wins at the Flushing Meadows. 

Djokovic is no stranger to achievements and records and he now has his eyes set on becoming the first player since Roger Federer to defend the US Crown. If he manages to defend his title, he will complete a century of career title wins.
