The Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic arrived at Flushing Meadows in 2024 as the defending champion and an Olympic gold medalist. His opening match against Radu Albot was nothing short of electrifying, as he secured a 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 victory, marking his 78th win at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

In the second round, Djokovic faced his countrymate Laslo Djere and managed to clinch a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4, 2-0 win. Despite Laslo's valiant efforts, an unfortunate hip injury led to him conceding the match to Djokovic early in the third set. Djokovic also faced challenges of his own, requiring a massage for an abdominal issue after winning the first set

Djokovic's 90th victory at the Flushing Meadows

Djokovic's victory over Laslo Djere in the second round of the US Open enabled him to become the first tennis player, male or female, to record 90 or more career wins at all four Grand Slam events.

The Serbian Ace now boasts a record of 94 wins in the Australian Open, 96 wins at the French Open, 97 wins at Wimbledon and 90 wins at the Flushing Meadows.

After winning his second-round tie, Novak, in the post-match interview with Kyrgios, revealed what he likes to do on his off days in the city of New York.

Novak hilariously revealed that he loves to drink 'Nick Kyrgios Smoothie' at Joe and the Juice on his off days.
