Djokovic has been ruling the game of tennis in recent times.
Unfortunately for the current world number 1, it has been a tough start to his 2024 season, where he has failed to make it past the semis of the Australian Open and was eliminated in the 3rd round of the Indian Wells. It was still great to see Djokovic looking to make a return in the clay season by featuring in the Monte Carlo masters. This will also be Djokovic looking for his third title in this ongoing tournament.
Djokovic crushes Safiullin in round 2
It was important for the Serbian superstar to start well in this tournament and he did exactly that. Even though Novak Djokovic was up against a lower-seeded player in Roman Safiullin, he still had to bring his A-game. Djokovic was in complete control in this entire game where he absolutely demolished Safiullin in the match beating him 6-1 in the first and 6-2 in the second. This was Djokovic at his best where he made sure the Russian never got back in the game at all.
This win sends Djoko straight into the pre-quarters of the tournament and closer to another ATP title to his name. Djokovic has proved in this match that he has come back to make a statement and show everyone why he is still the number-ranked player in the world. It will be interesting to see what he has next in store for all the fans who are backing him to win this tournament. The dominance of Djokovic does not seem to get over at all right now.
