The Grand Slam week at the Flushing Meadows has begun and there is already a lot of drama been created in the US Open 2024 this season. This is one of the biggest Grand Slam events of the season with some of the top players in setup looking to put their best game forward. There have also been some major controversies that have been created during just before the Grand Slam event as well and there is no doubt that we all have debated on the topics as well.

One of the biggest controversies this season is when World number one Jannik Sinner was tested positive during the doping tests, but the ATP and ITF still allowed him to play further since the substance was not taken intentionally. There was a huge debate on whether the Italian should have been banned or not after failing the Tests. While some people were supportive of the decision to let Sinner play, there were some who were not supportive of this decision at all.

Kyrgios continues his attack during commentary

One of the people who had a problem with Sinner continuing his journey this season is former Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios. The Australian made his views clear on social media saying Sinner should be banned for 2 years, but has not ended the debate there and continued with his remarks during commentary on ESPN saying " I’m not going to be as hospitable to him as I was before when I’m in the locker room, I think I stand by every word. Everything I put on social media I have to stand up for. I’ve seen many of my friends go through doping things and being suspended."

This is not all as Kyrgios continued his statements on the Italian and bringing up that he wants a level playing field for everyone and has no personal problem with the World number one. However, it still seems like Kyrgios is still having a lot of problems with Sinner playing and to seem continue to take jibes at him at him on the doping scandal is not really painting a great picture of him as well.
