British Broadcaster Nick Kyrgios has been one of the most outspoken critics of Sinner since news of his doping controversy emerged, going as far as to suggest that the Italian world No.1 should have faced a two-year ban.

Sinner tested positive for clostebol, an anabolic steroid, in March, but he maintains that he did not knowingly take the substance.

Clostebol is present in several common over-the-counter medications in Italy but comes with a warning on the packaging advising athletes not to use it due to its status as a prohibited substance.

Jannik Sinner, avoided a drugs ban after a tribunal concluded that two failed tests in March were the result of contamination from a massage by his physiotherapist. The tribunal in London determined that the world No. 1 holds "no fault or negligence" in this matter.

Kyrgios voiced his opinion on X

Following the tribunal's decision in favour of Italian Number 1, the British Broadcaster tweeted:-

'Ridiculous - whether it was accidental or planned. You get tested twice with a banned (steroid) substance… you should be gone for 2 years. Your performance was enhanced. Massage cream…. Yeah nice'

Anna Kalinskaya a pivot of the controversies

Nick Kyrgios faced more criticism for a tweet aimed at Italian world No.1 and US Open winner Jannik Sinner and his partner. Kyrgios responded "second serve" to a tweet featuring a photo of him and his ex-girlfriend, WTA player Anna Kalinskaya, taken at a basketball match several years ago.

The couple ended their relationship in 2020, and Kalinskaya is presently dating Sinner. After Sinner's victories on his way to winning the US Open final against Taylor Fritz, the pair publicly celebrated with a kiss.

Jannis Sinner's response to Kyrgios's criticism

Sinner opted not to react to any of the comments made by the British broadcaster Nick Kyrgios. Sinner felt everyone has the right to say what they desire.

Kyrgios stated in an Interview:- “I don’t know. I don’t want to respond to what he said. Everyone is free to say everything. It’s ok. If that is the case, let’s see. It’s gonna be different for sure (laughing). I don’t know what to say."
