Speaking about the same subject, former American tennis player Andy Roddick has questioned star player Carlos Alcaraz's honesty, as the young tennis star has admitted having self-doubts before facing Jack Draper in the semi-final at the BNP Paribas Open of the Indian Wells 2025.

After that, Alcaraz suffered defeat in the epic three-setter and lost the chance to mark a historic three-peat. After Draper's stellar win over him, the 21-year-old star later admitted that he knew Draper would be a tough opponent and said that the British sensation was really solid in play. The star player further added that he didn't have a warm-up or practice game ahead of the match.

"Since the beginning of the day, since the morning, I was thinking about his game, because he's really tough, he's really solid, and it's going to be a really physical match," Carlos Alcaraz said after the match with Draper.

The former American sensation has questioned if this was the correct choice of saying things in his latest episode of the podcast.

"But also, I have another question—if you're in Alcaraz's camp, how honest is too honest? Like, he has this cloak of, like, people are ready; you know, he's won four Slams; he's 21. Do you want people to know that you kind of have this, maybe sometimes, mental insecurity?   I think he's more endearing for having shared it. But if you're in his camp, are you going, "Don't tell people that; they think you're invincible?," Andy Roddick said.
