The recent US Open 2024 Grand Slam winner and world number 1 tennis player Jannik Sinner has been called ‘Unstoppable’ by former world number 1 and tennis legend Rafale Nadal's uncle Toni Nadal. He showered praise on Jannik Sinner and has also warned Carlos Alcaraz.

The four grand slam titles of 2024 are now shared between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The Italian had won the Australian Open 2024 and US Open 2024 Grand Slam while the Spaniard had won the Roland Garros and Wimbledon Grand Slam.

Carlos lost his momentum when he lost his opportunity to win the Olympic gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 losing to Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic. Despite controversy about his doping case Jannik Sinner had won the US Open 2024 Grand Slam for the first time defeating Taylor Fritz in the finals.

Jannik vs Alcaraz the new rivalry

Toni Nadal praised Jannik Sinner for being Unstoppable for the majority of his opponents. He says, “In the week before the start of the competition we were wondering how the incessant controversy generated by his possible doping could affect him. After the final and his magnificent performance, the Italian has shown once again that he not only has one of the best games on the circuit but also the temperament to face complicated situations.”

He also says, “Sinner delivers each of his strokes with great speed and few unforced errors. He will make it very difficult for Carlos Alcaraz if he doesn't have that mental strength. The rivalry is definitely on.” Unexpectedly early exits in the Cincinnati Masters and the US Open have raised questions about Carlos Alcaraz's ability to handle mental pressure.

The 22-year-old is now preparing and is expected to show good signs in the Davis Cup 2024. Toni Nadal highlighted that both these rising stars of the tennis world will have more mental battles than physical in the upcoming tournaments.
