The time has nearly run out on tennis sensation Jannik Sinner's three-month doping ban. The world number one initially tested positive for the banned substance clostebol in Indian Wells 2024 in California, but news broke out in August. Despite this doping saga, the 23-year-old star player could compete but was docked prize money and ranking points for breaching the code of conduct.
The star player was last seen in action when he defended his Australian Open title. World number one defeated world number two Alexander Zerev in the summit clash to win the title. After that, he was issued a three-month ban, with his suspension taking place from February 9 and now set to end on May 4. Despite missing the Qatar Open, Indian Wells, Miami Open, Barcelona Open, Monte Carlo Masters, and the ongoing Mutua Madrid Open, he is holding the top spot in the ATP rankings.

Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner has recently chatted with local media, where he gives them an update on what he has been up to in the last three months. The star player spent time relaxing with his family and friends. He revealed that he utilised the beginning of the three-month doping ban. Sinner revealed that he did try to do new things and get to know himself better.
"I think at the beginning of the three months, it was quite nice. A bit of time away from all the grind, I spent time with family, with friends. I was doing new things and getting to know myself better, finding out where I stand. I think it helped me a lot. Now that we have less than a month to go, we're training very, very hard. Hopefully, we'll get some momentum going again ahead of the clay season. It certainly won't be easy for me. The first games will be really difficult. But hopefully I'll be able to get back into the rhythm and then we'll see how it goes," Jannik Sinner said.
