Tennis star Alexander Zverev experienced an awful moment at the ongoing BMW Munich Open, where a fan heckled him by referencing a past controversy concerning him. What made this incident more shocking was that this took place on his home turf, where he might have expected support from his home crowd, being a local favourite. This incident unfolded during his quarter-final game against Tallon Griekspoor.
As the 27-year-old tennis star was gearing up to take his second serve in the second set of the game, a fan from the crowd suddenly shouted at him, labelling him as a "wife-beater" and trying to instigate him. These comments have left Zverev baffled as he paused and looked back at the crowd.

What next for Alexander Zverev after winning the BMW Muncih Open 2025?
Speaking about the same subject, Zverev has shared his thoughts on this incident. The 27-year-old star player, who will next be seen in action in the Mutua Madrid Open 2025, has finally broken his silence on this incident. The German-born star was seen hailing the crowd for supporting him.
However, Zverev further added that there will be some idiotic people in every tournament. The world number three said that such types of people will be seen in every sport, including football. Despite this incident and controversy, he affirmed that he had appreciated the incredible support he received from the fans on his home turf. He further pointed out that this wasn't a major issue for him.
"No, it's okay. In Munich, the crowd was amazing, to be honest. I said this before, in the quarterfinal match against Griekspoor, I was mentally out of the match, and the crowd was the one that got me back, and I won the match because of the crowd, so I can't complain at all. To be honest, there's always going to be one or two idiots everywhere. It's in every single sport, in football with racism, in tennis, you have it somewhere else, it's just like that, it's how sport is. But for me, the crowd was amazing in Munich," Alexander Zverev said.
