The Australian Open 2025 is getting interesting manifold, as we see many rallies and marathons during the game. UK’s Jack Draper was caught in a marathon match against Argentine Mariano Navone. In the opening round of the tournament, Draper faced Mariano. The Brit was down on the first set as the Argentine took the early advantage by finishing 4-6. In the second set, Jack made a great comeback and dominated Mariano to win 6-3. With both players having each set in their hands the match had gone to the third set and the Marinao this time triumphed over the Brit.

The first-round match became gruelling for both players as both weren’t willing to give up at any point. It became more of a Marathon in the game of Tennis. The 23-year-old was forced to battle hard to win the game and Draper took it up as a challenge. Yet again he led the fourth and the final set by winning the 6-3 and 6-2. He defeated the No 47 seed and triumphed in Melbourne by 4-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Jack Draper never went beyond round, this win is his best result at the Australian Open. His biggest achievement was reaching the semifinals of the 2024 US Open last year. The Argentine player Mariano Navone showed some fighting spirit in the first three rounds but let go in the final two rounds. The British player was struggling with a hip injury and he was desperate to play in the Australian Open 2025. That was the biggest reason he withdrew from the United Cup event.
But his sacrifice has paid him very well as now he will be playing in the second round of the Grand Slam. Jack Draper will now face the australian seed Thanasi Kokkinakis as he defeated Roman Safiullin in his first round. The Australian Open is the most attended Grand Slam in the Tennis calendar thanks to the Australian people's love for Sports.
