'It’s very big, I'd say...' - Daniil Medvedev opens up on money for which he could quit tennis

To put that figure into context, the Moscow native would have to win all four majors and the ATP Finals every year for the next eight decades or so in order to cross the £1billion threshhold.

Tennis star player Daniil Medvedev is best known for his legendary frankness. Without a taboo, the Moscow-born star always speaks with his mind. A typical but very famous figure in the tennis fraternity, the 28-year-old was recently encountered with a question and asked about his personal relationship with money. Following the same, Daniil revealed the amount he could stop playing tennis for.

Medvedev is a man with expensive tastes after revealing how much would be enough for him to leave this sport. The world number five is still at the epitome of the level of his powers, but even Medvedev has a price in mind when it comes to taking his stance in the sport. The 28-year-old further went on to clarify that he would be very upset if he ended up quitting this game. At least for the time being, it seems that his hunger for competing will be enough for him to get ahead on the court after the recent retirement of Rafael Nadal.

"I think this sum doesn’t exist, or it’s very big. I'd say a billion. For that amount, I would probably think about it. Let’s just say that I love money. Tennis sometimes gets on my nerves, but that's also why I love it. It’s hard to live without competition, so I try, I play, I win," he told BetBoom's YouTube channel

The Russian was last seen in action during the ATP Finals 2024. The former US Open winner was thwarted by world number one Jannik Sinner in the final game by 6-3, 6-4, leaving him no chance at all in reaching the last four in the season-ending tournament in Turin.
