The forthcoming 2025 United Cup is all set to commence in the early hours of Friday, with star players Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz anchoring top seeds USA. The sides have been placed in Group A alongside Canada and Croatia. It showcases that they have the chance to get revenge on Canada, who will be led by Felix Auger-Aliassime and Leylah Fernandez. The two also anchor alongside Danielle Collins, a United Cup 2024 side that seems to have fewer expectations.
So the less expectation there will be, perhaps less so this year. The two stars will be playing against Canada on Sunday and then Gauff with Donna Vekic on Tuesday, and for the WTA Finals champions, the 20-year-old star is all set not only to play against Fritz once again but also to win the title this time.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old is setting her sights on a second Grand Slam title at the 2025 Australian Open, following her breakthrough victory at the 2023 USA Open. Before heading to Melbourne for the marquee event, scheduled to take place from January 12 to 26, the young player is confident that her participation in the United Cup is set to offer solid preparation.

"It's my first time playing, so I'm super excited! I like playing team events, so hopefully, I can represent my country well. Yeah, it's really cool to play with Taylor. Obviously, we're both coming off a good year-end, and it will be our second time playing together, so hopefully, we can do even better than the Olympics. We both have to play pretty high-ranked players for the first two matches, and yeah, so it'll be a good test before the Australian Open,” she said in the video uploaded by the tournament’s X account.
