It will be down to the final 16 tommorow in the WTA tournament in Rome which has seen some great match ups and battles already. We will now be looking into the 4th round just before the playoffs and this will be the moment for all the surprises that we can get in these encounters. the tournament already has its share of top players who are right now leading the game of tennis with some great performances in the matches.

The match we are going to talk about is between the upcoming American world number 3 Coco Gauff and the comeback special entrance of Spaniard Paula Badosa. These two will be playing their 5th game together and have been looking in great form in the previous games. Coco Gauff has already impressed everyone with her game, but this time she will be against the experiences Paula Badosa who will be looking to make it to her first WTA 1000 playoff this season.

The hunt for first title this season vs hunt for first ATP 1000 glory

There is no doubt that Gauff is currently the USA WTA player right now who has held her world number 3 position for a long time now, but she has gone through a bit of a struggle and has not won a title this season. On the other hand Paula Badosa will also be looking for her first ATP 1000 glory which has eluded her for number of years. Though Gauff according to form and rankings should be the favourite It is Paula Badosa who has got the better of her in the head-to head stats. The Spaniard has got the better of Gauf in 3 games while Gauff has only won 1 encounter so far.

It is safe to say that Gauff has been in better form and Badosa has just come from injury, but the stats are all against the American even in terms of sets won among them. The last time Gauff got the better of Badosa was in two years ago when she beat her in Doha. All together this match is set up well and we would like to witness if Gauff will get one step closer to her first title this season or will Badosa crush her dreams once again.
