It's that time of the year when many tennis players enjoy some well-deserved time off. The tennis season is one of the longest, kicking off in January and wrapping up at the end of November. This extended schedule leaves little room for players to rest and recharge.
Carlos Alcaraz has had an impressive season, securing victory at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon and earning a silver medal for Spain at the 2024 Paris Olympics. However he experienced some challenges and downfalls towards the tail end of the year with early exits at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin and the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga.
Following the recent Davis Cup Finals in Malaga, Carlos Alcaraz took a moment to bid farewell to his esteemed compatriot Rafael Nadal, who has retired from professional tennis and is now enjoying a well-deserved vacation.

The former world No. 1 is set to prepare in Spain over the winter and will depart for Australia post-Christmas to acclimatize to the weather conditions heading into the 2025 Australian Open. The 21-year-old from Murcia are yet to showcase his best tennis in Melbourne, having consistently fallen short of reaching the semifinals in his previous appearances.
The 4-time Grand Slam Champion from Murcia is among the strong contenders for the Australian Open, scheduled from January 12 to 26. To make his impact known in the tournament, he will need to showcase his best tennis right from the early rounds. With Novak Djokovic seeded seventh in Melbourne, there’s a possibility that the young Spaniard could encounter the legendary player in the quarter-finals.
