Thanasi Kokkinakis and Matteo Berrettini

As the Davis Cup is proceeding towards the end, the Italian team has shown flawless performance showing their class in Malaga. Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini had won the deciding doubles against the Argentina team and are moments away from claiming the title. The dream of winning the Davis Cup for the Australians have come to an end since Thanasi Kokkinakis faced back-to-back defeats in the Davis Cup finals.

Recently, Matteo Berrettini posted an image through his official Instagram account, celebrating his heroics, with a picture and caption mentioning an emoji of a hammer and mentioning Davis Cup Finals. Thanasi Kokkinakis was seen replying to the post with an emoji of a middle-finger and laughing emoticon. It can be expected that it is a way of having a fun banter with the Italian star.

Italians storm into Davis Cup Finals

Thanasi has faced a hard time during the match against the Italians. He tried his level best to take the Australian team to the finals, but they fell through as the Italians scored 2-0, leading the defending Champions to the finals once again.

Post the back-to-back singles defeat in the game, the Australians lost hope and were eliminated from the tournament. Berrettini went on to blow off three set points, but eventually, he fought back with power hitting the match, by scoring 6-3 in the second set.

Recently, Jannik Sinner emerged triumphant in the ATP Finals in Turin. The star is already in form and has already proved the world of his master class. With his backing and support, it became even more easy to secure a win for the Italians. Like always, Jannik Sinner has been the fan favorite. With the finals approaching, all eyes will be on the Italian team to see if the Defending Champions will be able to defend their title win this year.
