World number one Iga Swiatek raised worries concerning possible consequences following her criticism of the French Open crowd for their aggressive behaviour. Notably, the Polish star made her comments after defeating Naomi Osaka in the second round of the Roland Garros in Paris. Speaking about the game, both star players were engaged in a thrilling battle at the claycourt, with both claiming wins in each set to force a decider.

However, despite the same,  the 22-year-old went on to express her displeasure with the crowd's conduct after she heard passive reactions from the crowd during the game due to the compelling contest. Iga revealed that such screaming from the fans makes players distracted during the game. However, the young player admitted that she still has a lot of respect for the fans, and they are playing for them only.

"I have huge respect for you guys and I know we are playing for you, but sometimes under a lot of pressure when you scream something during the rally, it’s really hard to be focused. I usually don’t bring this up because I want to be a player that’s in the zone and focused. But this is serious for us. We’re fighting our whole lives to be better and better. Sometimes it’s hard to accept that. The stakes are big. There’s a lot of money to win. Losing a few points may change a lot," Iga Swiatek said.

I didn’t have a problem with the crowd at all: Naomi Osaka

Meanwhile, Naomi Osaka expressed an opposing opinion as compared to Iga Swiatek. The Japan-born star was asked about Iga's behaviour during the game, to which she came up with a different choice. The star player revealed that she doesn't have any problems with crowd behaviour.

"I thought the crowd was really cool. These are the moments for what I work for. I didn’t have a problem with the crowd at all. But I’m used to the New York crowd," Naomi Osaka said in her post-match press conference.
