Iga Swiatek Beats arch rival Aryna Sabalenka in two straight sets to win third Italian Open title and back to back WTA 1000 titles. World number 1 Polish gets the better of the Belarusian once again.

The final game for the WTA Italian Open final had commenced and it was another rivalry which took place on the. This was the game everyone had been waiting for finally seeing the stars battle it out again. The WTA women's single was completely dominated by the top three players who were the best in the tournament as well. It was great to see our favourite players play their best game and dominate the WTA 1000 tournament.

With this, it was not surprising at all when we saw Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka once again battle it out in the finals once again. This was the second time in a row that we saw both of these leading women in a WTA 1000 tournament. It was Swiatek who got the better of the Belarusian in the Madrid Open finals and it was a chance for Sabalenka to avenge her loss in the tournament. The battle of the top 2 was on in Rome and it was the match everyone wanted to watch.

Swiatek beats Sabalenka again

There was no doubt that it was Aryna  Sablenka who was the one under pressure coming from a heartbreaking loss in the finals in Madrid and it was the Polish who got the better of her in the first set winning 6 games to 2 and putting pressure straight away on the 2024 Australian Open champion. The second set once again saw Swiatek dominate winning 6 games to 3 and winning her third Italian Open final. This was the second consecutive WTA 1000 title for Swiatek this Clay season getting another 1000 points to keep herself further at the top of the rankings.

This was another tournament where Swiatek got the better of Sabalenka once again and showed why she is the world number 1 right now. This was also the 8th time the 4-time grand slam winner won from the world number 2 ranked star. Iga Swiatek might have not won a grand slam this season yet, but she has looked like the best player in this current Clay season where she has been with 4 WTA singles titles in the tour. She has lived up to the standards of being the pioneer of the modern day.
