Tennis superstar Aryna Sabalenka has recently opened up about facing her rival Iga Swiatek in the women's singles final of the Italian Open 2024, slated to take place on May 18 in Rome. Notably, both players last met in the final of the recently concluded Mutua Madrid Open 2024, where the Poland-born star completely outclassed Sabalenka to win the game.

However, Iga Swiatek defeated Coco Gauff in the semi-final clash to enter the final game. On the other hand, Sabalenka beats Collins to set up her final match against Iga. However, Sabalenka was asked about her rivalry with Iga, which motivated her. In response, she said she always loves battles against Iga and really enjoys facing her. The star player sets out to take revenge on her for losing the final game of the Mutua Madrid Open 2024.

Meanwhile, both star players are set to lock horns around 11 times when they will be facing each other at the Italian Open in 2024. The pair have met in four finals during the WTA tour, out of which three were won by Iga Swiatek. The upcoming Italian Open 2024  final will be the duo's second meeting in Rome, with Iga winning the clash against Sabalenka in the 2022 semi-final game.

Hopefully, we bring our best tennis and you guys enjoy watching us play and hopefully, this time I’m gonna get this title with your support guys," Sabalenka said.

"I was considering retiring from the tournament. Lucky me, I had an extra day. I was doing a lot of recovery. I'm still doing lots of exercises, and treatments, and taking care of my lower back. It's getting better. I guess we're on the right way. It was a crazy injury. I thought, 'Okay, I'm done in Rome'. But we did a great treatment, great physios. I really appreciate the physio that helped me to stay alive and actually fix the problem," Sabalenka said.
