Carlos Alcaraz beat Taylor Fritz 6-7, 7-5, 6-3 in the Jimmy Conors Group at the ATP Finals. The Spaniard will finish 2025 as the number-one-ranked ATP player if he wins a game in the remainder of the season. When asked if he thinks about it, Alcaraz said his focus is to concentrate on his match to control his emotions.
The 6-time Grand Slam winner became the youngest since Boris Becker to win 50 or more matches against the top 10 players in the world. He needs only one win to end 2025 as the number-one-ranked ATP player, a milestone for which he's competing against Jannik Sinner.
