Carlos Alcaraz opens up on Lorenzo Musetti replacing Novak Djokovic in the ATP Finals 2025. The Spaniard claimed that Msetti deserves to be in the tournament for the quality of games he has played in the 2025 season. While he regarded the group featuring Novak Djokovic as a challenge of its own, Alcaraz said he would prefer Lorenzo over him.
Djokovic opted out of the ATP Finals 2025, and his replacement turned out to be Musetti. In the Head-to-Head record, Alcaraz leads 6-1 against Novak's replacement, with his only loss coming back in 2023. Carlos recalled it and claimed Musetti had hammered him two years ago.

"Well, obviously, someone like Novak being in the group is always tough. The experience he has in this tournament, the level he has on the indoor court, it's quite good. I lost to him in 2023, and I played great. He killed me. To be honest, I prefer Lorenzo. I'm not going to lie," Alcaraz said in the press conference ahead of the ATP Finals 2025.
"He's coming from Athens, and he couldn't feel the court at all," - Carlos Alcaraz
Alcaraz did not take Musetti lightly at all and praised him for his 2025 season. He noted that Musetti didn't feel the court at all in Athens but hoped he would bring the fight in the ATP Finals.

"If he's there, he deserves it because of the level he has put on the matches, the tournaments he has done this year, and the level he showed this year. It was really, really high. Let's see how he's going to be, how he's going to adapt. He's coming from Athens, and he couldn't feel the court at all. But I'm sure he's going to do great, and let's see how it's going to be," Alcaraz added.
