After finishing 2024 as the ATP number five, Medvedev has been notably absent from the start of 2025, having not yet traveled to Australia for any warm-up game ahead of the Australian Open 2025. While his absence from the training session of the first Grand Slam of the year, the 28-year-old tennis star has finally given an overwhelming surprise by announcing the birth of his second child, with his wife Daria.
In a sweet and surprising moment, the Russian tennis sensation took to his Instagram to share a picture and revealed that the couple has welcomed their second child. In the picture, Medvedev was seen holding his newborn with his elder daughter Alisa, sitting just beside him.

Meanwhile, the star player tied the knot with Daria in 2018 after meeting her in 2014. The couple then welcomed their first daughter, Alisa, in 2022, and in conversation with Tennis.com, Medvedev revealed a heartwarming connection with his daughter.

“If something doesn’t go her way, then she throws a toy in anger or bites it,” joked Medvedev. “My wife is looking at me saying, ‘Okay, where does it come from?’ And that’s pretty funny because you start asking yourself if it’s just pure genetics and I don’t have an answer to this question!. This year, Simon and I got to know each other better; we got to know each other well. Now we will try to do a thorough pre-season preparation together and see what comes of it.”
