The Laver Cup 2024 was one of the most intense clashes where we saw Team Europe come out of nowhere being 8-4 after two days. There were some great performances from Bjorn Borg's men who won their fifth Laver Cup title after winning their fifth Laver Cup title this season. This was a thrilling contest between the two teams which we did not expect to see at all and there is no doubt that they all have the right to celebrate this epic victory and make a comeback after the disappointing last two years.

The performances of players like Stefanos Tsitsipas and Carlos Alcaraz were something to marvel at but there were also some players who had a disappointing time in the event. One of them was Daniil Medvedev who lost both his matches and almost injured a fan after throwing his racquet in the stands and almost injuring a fan. This was one of the most unprofessional and terrible acts in the game.

Medvedev opens up on the incident

This was an incident that got everyone riled up especially the Team World players who wanted Medvedev to be disqualified from the match. However, the umpire explained to them that since the racquet did not touch or hurt anyone all they could give the Russian was a warning.

Medvedev even opened up on the incident during the conference saying " I didn't want to throw it the way I threw it. I mean, I didn't want -- I wanted to throw it, like, on one place, so it was horrible for me. I got lucky. I didn't touch anyone. When you don't touch anyone in tennis, you don't get a disqualification. So that's it. I got, yeah, should not do this."

Though at least Medvedev disagreed with his actions after his loss to Ben Shelton on day 3, but the statement did not seem apologetic enough which will be a concern for his team. This was clearly one of the most infamous incidents which the Tennis World would want to forget.
