How Carlos Alcaraz can become World No. 1 after Jannik Sinner crashes out of Canadian Open

The hard court season has started and there are some big tournaments which will be coming up. With the Canadian Open in its last few days we all will be looking forward to the tournament in Cincinnati and the US Open which will be the next few tournaments to watch out for which will feature some great players. There will be the same level of excitement in the tournaments which have been there for a long time this season and all the fans will be up for it.

There is no doubt that the upcoming tournaments are some of the biggest tournaments to look forward to but what we are missing is that these two tournaments can play a huge role in the rankings. With Novak Djokovic to only feature in the upcoming US Open and Jannik Sinner's elimination from the Canadian Open it is safe to say that the door is open for the World number one spot and there are some big competitors in the mix who will be going after it. It is safe to say that these two tournaments can change the game completely by the end of the 2024 season.

Carlos Alcaraz has a chance to make it to the top

The top three ranking players in ATP right now are Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz who are respectively one, two and three in the rankings. We all know that Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the two ATP tournaments which has caused him to drop some big points which already gives Alcaraz a chance to get to the World number 2 spot. But that is not all with sinner losing in the quarter finals of the Canadian Open the Italian has also dropped some points since he was the defending champion last year. Overall this gives a chance to Carlos Alcaraz who will be in the Cincinnati Open to get to World number one.

There is no doubt that even Alcaraz has dropped some points after withdrawing from the Canadian Open, but since it is not a big margin if he has a great tournament in Cincinnati the Spaniard can get closer to the spot. Even Sinner's injury concerns can help the Spaniard as well. Carlos Alcaraz has had one of his best seasons so far where he has won the Roland Garros and Wimbledon along with a Olympic silver medal. There is no doubt that he will take the opportunity of reaching that number one spot with both hands.
