Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are all set for a rematch of last year's Wimbledon final. Although Djokovic, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, expects Alcaraz to have a successful campaign in the future, he hopes the youngster does not start by beating him on Sunday (July 14).

The Serbian clinched a straightforward 3-setter victory against Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-final on Friday. Speaking after the match, the veteran tipped the three-time Grand Slam winner Alcaraz to win many more Majors in the future. Notably, last year at the same venue, the Spaniard defeated Djokovic in a five-set thriller.

In his on-court interview after the semifinal match, Djokovic said that Alcaraz lives a well-balanced life on and off the court. The 37-year-old is expecting his rival to enjoy tremendous achievements in the future.

"He is a great example as a young player that has a well-balanced life on and off the court. He has great values in his family and a lot of charisma," said Djokovic during his on-court interview.

"He is deservedly one of the greatest 21-year-olds we have seen in this sport. We will see a lot of him in the future no doubt. He is going to win many more Grand Slams, but hopefully in two days not this one,” he added.

He is complete as a player: Djokovic praises Alcaraz

Alcaraz defeated Russia's Daniil Medvedev in a 4-set clash to book a berth in the summit clash. The 21-year-old is in top form and Djokovic knows he will have to bring his best to be victorious on Sunday. Notably, this is the 24-time Grand Slam winner's maiden final of 2024 and he has a good chance of equalling Roger Federer's record for most Wimbledon titles (8).

"He has already beaten me here in a thrilling five-setter. I don't expect anything less than that. He is complete as a player as they come. It is going to take the best of my abilities overall to beat him on Sunday,” said Djokovic.
