There is always a lot of hype for Grand Slam tournaments in Tennis and we all look forward to seeing the four tournaments which feature some of the best players in the World. Though we still enjoy the the Australian and the US Open there is always something special about the French Open and Wimbledon. Both these tournaments are iconic in their way. The French Open or Roland Garros is known to be one of the toughest and most gruelling tournaments whereas Wimbledon is known for its classy and sophisticated style which is pleasant for the eyes.

These are probably some of the most iconic tournaments in tennis as well and there is a large audience who always look forward to witnessing these major Grand Slam events. This is also the reason why it is a big deal when a player completes a Channel Slam or just features in the finals of both these tournaments. It is very rare for a player to make it to the finals of both these tournaments and there are a few players who have managed to do it. We will be looking at some of the players who have managed to achieve this feat so far.

So, here are the top 5 players to make it to the finals of Wimbledon and Roland Garros in the same season:

5. Carlos Alcaraz- 2024( Channel slams- 0)

The latest addition to this list and perhaps one of the upcoming stars of the season is Carlos Alcaraz who has just achieved this feat right now. The Spaniard has already won his first Roland Garros title this season and has now made it to his second consecutive Wimbledon final and will be hoping to make it a Channel Slam. Alcaraz's game is growing from strength to strength and it will be great to see him win another Grand Slam and break even more major records to put him among the best in the business.

4. Andy Murray- 2016 ( Channel Slams- 0)

Andy Murray was certainly one of the greats of tennis since he was the only one who gave great competition to the big three. He has had some great seasons and is perhaps one of the most iconic UK players we have ever seen. Murray made it to the finals of both the French Open and Wimbledon in 2016. While he might have faced a tough loss against Djokovic in the finals, he still went on to win the Wimbledon that season beating Milos Raonic in three straight sets to win his second Wimbledon title. This was one of the most successful seasons for Murray which he will remember for a long time.

3. Novak Djokovic- 2014, 2015, 2021 and 2023 ( Channel Slams- 1)

djokovic

There is no doubt that Novak Djokovic is one of the major legends of Tennis who has gone on to win multiple Grand Slams. Djokovic has made it to the finals of both these Grand Slam events four times in 2014, 2015, 2021 and 2023. This also includes a Channel Slam which he won in 2021 which was perhaps one of his most iconic seasons. This shows the consistency and success rate of the Serbian powerhouse who has been the most dominant player and is regarded as one of the greatest legends to ever play the game.

2. Roger Federer- 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 (Channel Slams- 1)

There will barely be an elite list like this without the name Roger Federer who has had one of the most legendary careers we have ever seen. Just like Djokovic Federer has achieved this feat four times as well in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. This was one of his most dominant seasons reaching the finals of Roland Garros and Wimbledon 4 times in a row and also finally achieving a Channel Slam in 2009 where he finally won a French Open title after beating Robin Soderling. This is another great achievement by the Swiss Maestro which is as iconic as his career.

  1. Rafael Nadal- 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 (Channel Slams- 2)

nadal

Rafael Nadal was one of the most aggressive players who was already a dominant figure in Roland Garros, but we also forget that he also has a great record in Wimbledon as well. He has reached the finals of both tournaments 5 times and has also got 2 Channel Slams to his name in 2008 and 2010. This is one of the seasons where we saw the Wrath of El Nino where he made life tough for his opponents in his prime. The 22-time Grand Slam champion was in his prime in the late 2000's and early 2010's and had etched his name among the greatest players in the World.
