Tennis sensation Alexandra Eala suffered an exit from the Miami Open 2025 after losing her semi-final thriller to Jessica Pegula on March 28. The star player's stint at the prestigious event comes to an end after suffering defeat against Pegula with a scoreline of 6-7 (3), 7-5, 3-6.

The 19-year-old star had a tough start to the game with two WTA stars forcing the game heading into the tiebreaker, where Pegula won it to take an early lead. However, Eala showcased her form by staging her comeback in the second set to level up this clash. After that, Pegula showcased her aggressive play and classic ability to hit the shots and outrageous hits that baffled the teenage tennis sensation in the third and final set.

In a heartwarming moment, the Philippines fans were seen enjoying her clash when she won the second set against Pegula to level up the thriller. A plethora of fans were spotted enjoying her victory. The home fans were ecstatic after she became the first-ever woman from her nation to make it to the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 tournament.

The fans erupted in a wild celebration, spotted exchanging high fives in a local cafe bar. This cheer does not only showcase fans' love after leveling up the game in the second set but also the hunger with which the young star has been dominating the hard courts in Florida.

“I don’t know what to say. It’s so surreal. I feel like I’m the exact same person as I was in that photo. But of course, circumstances have changed! I’m so happy and so blessed to be able to compete with such a player on this stage. My coach told me to run, to go for every ball, to take all the opportunities I can because a five-time (grand) slam champion is not going to give you the win,” Eala said in her on-court interview.
