Tennis stars Emma Raducanu,Simona Halep, and Dominic Thiem are set to drop down to play in the upcoming French Open 2024, taking place on May 26. Notably, Emma was recently declined a main wildcard to the second grand slam tournament of the year. The French Tennis Federation (FTT) has released its list of wildcards for the 2024 tournament while trying to reserve for local French players.

Meanwhile, Raducanu has entered the tournament with her protected ranking as she sets to make her comeback after eight months of gap following three surguries this year. Notably, the 21-year-old has been named outside the main draw, which means she will need four players ranked higher than her entry ahead of the qualifying round.

Speaking about her few last stins, Raducanu has not been into the action after losing in the first round of the recently concluded Mutua Madrid Open 2024. In addition, she had not competed in the ongoing Italian Open 2024 as she chose to reserve the wildcards for the local players, and she has decided to drop down. Meanwhile, she has been scheduled to take part in the Strasbourg WTA 500 next week during the French Open qualifying draw, but she decided to pull out just before the French Open announced its wildcard rules, as she fully intends to play in Paris for the coming event.

I think from the performance today it was very clear that mentally and emotionally I was exhausted: Emma Raducanu

The 21-year-old star player revealed that she is mentally and emotionally fully exhausted after her early exit from the Madrid Open in 2024. In addition, the Toronto-born star is facing difficulties pushing herself in the game.

"I would say the last few weeks have been a lot. I think from the performance today it was very clear that mentally and emotionally I was exhausted. I was trying to push through and I was just unable to push through today. I guess the sport is just pretty brutal," Raducanu said after the loss in Madrid Open 2024.
