Tennis star Elina Svitolina defeated sensational player Jessica Pegula 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 in the fourth round of the Indian Wells Masters 1000 tournament. The 30-year-old star suffered defeat in the first set of the game, giving Pegula a brilliant lead in the game.

However, Svitolina is now set to face a daunting task in Round 8 as she will be facing Mirra Andreeva. Notably, the 18-year-old has recently won the Dubai Duty Tennis Free Championship after defeating top players like Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina. Andreeva is in red-hot form and might pose a big threat to the Ukrainian star.

Meanwhile, Elina Svitolina has recently opened up about how her husband Gael Monfils, who suffered defeat in his third round of the game against Grigor Dimitrov in Indian Wells, and their daughter has helped her maintain her sanity. The star player further added that giving her best on tennis courts also makes her feel that she is doing something great for Ukraine.
"Yeah, there is time for that and there is time also for tennis. There is time for training and recovery and just completely switch off from everything. Also time with my family. You know, I have my daughter here. You know, Gael is here also. So, you know, it's nice to sometimes switch off completely from what's going on. I feel like it's something that I try to do for my country. You know, to see my flag, you know, raising and, you know, to see the tick with the wind from my country," Svitolina said after the win.
