Elena Rybakina beat Iga Swiatek 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 to win the Serena Williams group and qualified for the semifinal of the WTA Finals 2025. The Kazakhstan star has dropped a solitary set in the entire Serena Williams group and emerged as the deserving topper of the group. 

Elena had a dominant performance against the Welsh in the last two sets of the match, where she dropped only one game. After her match, she claimed to be playing very well in the last few weeks and expressed her excitement for the semifinal match.

"I've been playing really well the last few weeks. I’m really excited for my next match. Hopefully, I can bring the same intensity," Rybakina hoped, who wished to continue her purple patch in the ongoing tournament.

On the other hand, Amanda Anisimova overcame her fellow American Madison Keys 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 after being 4-6, 1-3 down to stay alive in the competition. She turned around her fortune well and ensured to have one more shot at qualifying for the semifinal in the tournament.

After the match, Anisimova noted that every time she plays in Paris, her opponents tend to play their best game. She was glad to turn things around after not having a good start to her match.

"I feel like every time I come out here, my opponent is playing crazy tennis. Today, Madi was playing so well. Just happy with how I was able to turn it around & turn that frown upside down," Anisimova said after beating Keys in her match.
