During the WTA Finals 2025, Coco Gauff regarded the WTA to be more interesting than the ATP due to the latter's predictability. The American WTA star felt there is no strong competitor in the ATP as of the 2025 season to challenge the dominance of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

In the press conference, Gauff felt the WTA has many strong competitors who could emerge victorious on a given day in an event. The defending WTA Finals Champion felt glad that there were four different champions in Grand Slams in the WTA in the 2025 season.

"It's great to have four different Grand Slam champs this year. All the girls have had a competitive year across the board, and I think it makes the sport more exciting when there are multiple chances for something to happen. Although Carlos and Jannik are doing great, there are talks of there needing to be a 3rd person to make it more interesting," Gauff said in the Press Conference.

In the WTA, Madison Keys won the Australian Open to start the year. In the middle of the year, Gauff herself won the Roland Garros, while Iga Swiatek won her maiden Wimbledon title. Later in the year, Aryna Sabalenka won the US Open.
