Nick Kyrgios has again attacked the Italian coaching staff for ignoring the counsel that has been provided to him regarding his frequent attacks on Jannik Sinner. Since it was revealed that the world No. 1 has been tested positive for clostebol in March and had failed two drug tests, Kyrgios didnot hesitate from criticizing Sinner. For Nick Kyrgios, Jannik Sinner's coach Darren Cahill receiving Tennis Australia's 2024 Coaching Excellence award was a "joke." When Kyrgios saw a tweet, he encouraged the authorities to exercise some "class."

However, he was permitted to continue playing after successfully contesting in his interim suspension. After accepting his claim that the drug entered his blood through his physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi, who treated a cut on his finger with clostebol-containing spray and then gave him a massage, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) later exonerated him of any wrongdoing. Sinner's positive tests were first disclosed to the tennis community after the ITIA cleared him in August.

However, the case remains unresolved because the World Anti-Doping Agency appealed the decision and is seeking a term of one to two years.Nick Kyrgios has been unrelenting in his criticism of Sinner and the procedure since he feels the Italian ought to be held accountable and banned. The doping scandal involving Sinner infuriated Kyrgios. After being found innocent, the Italian avoided a ban despite failing two drug tests.

Jannik Sinner enters to defend his title at the Australian Open

Nick Kyrgios has been criticizing Jannik Sinner for failing the test ever since the report was released in August. When Sinner's coach Cahill took home the prize this time, the Australian responded once more. "This is a joke right-have some class and intergrity people," the Australian wrote on X. However, Kyrgios claimed in commentary that his assuaults on Jannik Sinner were "nothing personal" when the story first surfaced in August.

Kyrgios lost to Sinner in straight sets in their only meeting on the ATP Tour, which took place in the fourth round of the 2022 Miami Open. After suffering several injuries that prevented him from playing since the 2023 Stuttgart Open, Kyrgios is expected to return in the Brisbane International the following year, just before Sinner enters to defend his title at  Australian Open.
