In a recent interview, Medvedev also shared his thoughts on fellow tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. Reflecting on their strengths, he said, "The great quality of Carlos is the power of his shots. When he is fit, he hardly makes mistakes.”

“I find it impressive that, playing against opponents like Zverev and Sinner, he can beat them without having to play his best tennis. Every time I play him, I know I can’t play a slow ball or a short ball because he’s gonna destroy me. I’ve never seen anything like it."

Medvedev continued, "As for Jannik, I’d say it’s very different. He has exquisite ball quality, but the power of his shots is a little lower. He has found ways to make very few mistakes and can find winners from any position.”

“They are two great champions, it is difficult to beat them and I believe that both will enter history. I’m not afraid of them, I’ll try to go get them every time. I have a clear idea of who will win more Grand Slams, but I don’t want to say it yet."

The Russian star also discussed the gruelling format of five-set matches, stating, "I think it’s very spectacular and nice to play the best five sets at the Slams, but I’d rather play three sets. It’s just my opinion and I don’t even have a valid explanation for it, I just say what I’d like. Playing 5 sets makes matches much more intense mentally and physically.”
