However, their fiery match was further bolstered with controversial moments like the USA star hitting a backhand on the Pole's chest Collins getting retired mid-match, and her confrontation with Swiatek during the handshake ahead of the final thrillers.

Notably, Collins felt that Iga Swiatek was insincere about her injury and decided to call the Polish star out, leaving her baffled. However, the two women again shared a strange handshake ahead of Team USA and Poland in the 2025 United Cup. The WTA number two, Iga Swiatek, refuted the whole controversy, stating that she could not comprehend what sparked Collin's comments.

"I think what happened on the court is very much just like sometimes people have friction at work. For most people, it's not on the news. I'm trying to be the best person that I can be, but that's not to say that I don't fall short of that. I could have taken a different approach and done some things differently. But we had a moment there on court. She's not someone that I really get to see a lot at the tennis and she's very guarded with her group," Collins said.
