Tennis star Aryna Sabalenka has recently opened up about how world number two Iga Swiatek motivates her so much to take the game at the epitome of the level to become one of the best players in this game.  The world number one, Aryna Sabalenka, wrapped up the 2025 Brisbane International by winning the marquee event. The Belarusian-born star has defeated Polina Kudermetova by 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to win her 18th WTA title. She suffered defeat in the first set but later won the second and third sets to win the final thriller on January 5.

During the post-match celebration, Sabalenka was recently asked about how former world number one Iga Swiatek's success motivates her at the same level. In reply to that, the Belarus-born star expressed how she and the Polish star push each other to become the better version of themselves in the game.

What are head-to-head records between Sabalenka and Swiatek?

Aryna Sabalenka further went on to say that she doesn't focus too much on the world number two or how many Grand Slams she has won as compared to her. Sabalenka revealed that instead she focuses on herself, her game, and how she can further improve and push her limit in the game. Notably, the two-star players have faced off 12 times so far on the WTA tour, with Iga dominating and winning eight matches out of 12.

“Well, I love the way we push each other. It's not like I'm thinking about her, about her amount of Grand Slams. I'm more focusing on myself, just trying to push myself to the limit and see how far I can get in this sport . At the end of my career I want to look back and be proud of myself . We'll talk about that at the end of my career,” Aryna Sabalenka said, as being quoted by Sportskeeda.
