There is plenty of support for the American tennis players in the Paris Olympics as well. After all, this is a nation that has created some great legends in the form of John Mcenroe and the William sisters. This edition also has some talented Americans in the form of Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul and Danielle Collins. However, the player who is currently leading the pack is another talented youngster Coco Gauff.

The growth of Coco Gauff has been great to witness, where she has already become a World number 2 and won her first Grand Slam at the age of 19 by beating Aryna Sabalenka in the finals of the US Open in 2023. She has been playing some great tennis even today and is leading the USA tennis team as well. She has also had a great start to the tournament as well where she has won her first two singles games and is one of the favourites to win a medal as well.

Gauff youngest to win an Olympic singles match

Gauff won her first game in the singles event against Tomljanovic in the first round which now makes her the youngest American to win a singles match at the Olympics. She has beaten the record of the legendary Venus Williams who won her first singles game in 2000 at Sydney. This is a great record by the American who was already one of the favorites in this contest. We also have to not forget that Venus also went on to win a Gold Medal in 2000 as well and the fans will be backing Gauff to do the same. She already looks in great form after winning her first two games convincingly and is currently living up to the standards of one of the leading ladies for her nation.

These are very high expectations from Gauff, but we still believe she can do it seeing how talented she is. Gauff is already a young sensation and though she still has a long way to go, we can surely see her winning some big matches going forward. It will be another big achievement if she wins the gold just like Venus back in Australia and becomes another American sensation to watch out for.
