Australian Open 2025: 19-year-old Jakub Mensik stuns tennis world with epic win over Casper Ruud in second round

Tennis star Casper Ruud suffered a shocking exit from the 2025 Australian Open as the 19-year-old star player Jakub Mensik rattled him in the second round of the showpiece event and knocked him out. The star player did not get the great start to his game as he lost the first set by 2-6.

However, the 26-year-old star staged a stunning comeback in the second set, but the 19-year-old tennis star showcased his beast form in the third set and continued the same onslaught in the fourth set to knock the star player from the marquee event. Notably, this loss is a big setback for Ruud's career, as he was expected to at least make his appearance till the quarterfinals or semi-finals.

Meanwhile, this victory marks Mensik's career's one of the biggest wins at the biggest stage of tennis. The young player was ecstatic after defeating the Norway-born star in the second round. The 19-year-old tennis star revealed that he tried and pushed himself extremely hard after the game was tied following the second set of the game. The Czech star further hailed his fans, who showcased immense support for him.

“I feel great. Obviously it was a tough match. Casper was playing really well. It was very tough from the beginning. I’m happy with my performance.
