However, the 26-year-old star staged a stunning comeback in the second set, but the 19-year-old tennis star showcased his beast form in the third set and continued the same onslaught in the fourth set to knock the star player from the marquee event. Notably, this loss is a big setback for Ruud's career, as he was expected to at least make his appearance till the quarterfinals or semi-finals.

The 19-year-old tennis star revealed that he tried and pushed himself extremely hard after the game was tied following the second set of the game. The Czech star further hailed his fans, who showcased immense support for him.

“I feel great. Obviously it was a tough match. Casper was playing really well. It was very tough from the beginning. I’m happy with my performance. I’m happy I showed it on a bigger court in front of this beautiful crowd. Thank you for the support. I see a lot of Czech fans also. After the 2nd set, when it was 1 all, I tried to play the same. I tried to focus on my game. That was the key for today because beating these players in best of 5 sets is not that easy," said Jakub Mensik after beating Casper Ruud.
