WTA tennis number 1 Aryna Sabalenka has surpassed a new record of 10,000 WTA points in the last decade, only next to Serena Williams, Ashleigh Barty and Iga Swiatek. The Belarusian tennis player is now on the league of all-time greatest tennis players. She recently won the Miami Open title against USA tennis player Jessica Pegula without dropping a set. She has surpassed 10,000 career points for the first time. She went into Miami with 9,606 points and is now at 10,541 points after the end of the Miami Open.

Aryna Sabalenka's world record

This is also her career's first Miami Open title and eighth WTA 1000 title. With this win, she joins the incredible superwomen group of Serena Williams, Ashleigh Barty and Iga Swiatek. In the last decade, only these women surpassed the 10,000 career points margin in tennis. This is her first week with 10,000 career points, and before that, Serena Williams carried the points for 20 weeks.

Barty carried for 10 weeks, and Iga Swiatek is the only player to carry for more than three years. We hope Aryna Sabalenka can carry forward the same momentum for the rest of the year. After losing the BNP Paribas Open 2025 tournament against Mirra Andreeva, Aryna played the Miami Open 2025, which is also a Masters 1000 category tournament. She played exceptionally well, defeating top tennis seeds like Daniel Collins, Qin Zheng, and Jasmine Paolin, reaching the finals.

She played the finals against Jessica Pegula, and without losing a single set, she clinched her first Miami Open title by 7-2, 6-2. Aryna started her 2025 tennis season with a win at the Brisbane International. Sabalenka entered the Australian Open Grand Slam with a winning streak but lost the finals against Madison Keys. Again, she lost the Indian Wells Open tournament to Andreeva.

Now she is back to winning ways with the Miami Open Masters 1000. In April 2025, Sabalenka will play in the Porsche Tennis Grand prix followed by the Madrid Open. Next month will be huge for her as she will be seen playing at the Roland Garros (French Open). Sabalenka never won a French Open or a Wimbledon Grand Slam.
