Former tennis player Andy Roddick has warned the fans to 'watch out' for a key factor in the forthcoming Italian Open 2025 final clash between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz and Sinner last played the Australian Open 2025 together, where the former crashed out in the quarter-finals while Sinner defended his title in Melbourne Park. Thereafter, Sinner accepted a three-month doping ban before marking his comeback in Rome.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner's stellar form this year
The Rome Masters final will be one of the most difficult battles of this year, with two players heading to this summit clash in stupendous form. Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has already won the ABN AMRO Open and Monte Carlo Masters titles this year and aims to win his third title of the year. He will be looking to bolster his preparation ahead of the French Open 2025, where he will be looking to defend his title.
On the other hand, Jannik Sinner had already won the Australian Open 2025 final before he was handed a three-month doping ban. He is unbeaten so far, and continued his great show at the Italian Open. He steals the limelight from Casper Ruud, who won the game in just 64 minutes in the quarter-finals of the Italian Open 2025. He defeated Tommy Paul in the semi-final despite losing the first set to set the stage against Carlos Alcaraz.
Speaking about the same subject, former world number one Andy Roddick has talked about their rivalry and about the shots and game plan to watch out for in this game.
“Carlos Alcaraz is a genius at finding a way to hit behind his opponents, especially when the footing isn’t as solid. So, Carlos doesn’t want Jannik hitting multiple shots from the same position. That is when he can distribute, that is when he can deploy his power. And Carlos is probably the most well-equipped person on earth to deal with Jannik Sinner. The funny thing is, when you see the stats from [Carlos] Alcaraz, at different points of the year, we have been concerned about him,” Andy Roddick said.
