Tennis sensation Jannik Sinner's mother, Signlinde, seems to have an intriguing reaction after watching the world number one's struggling game against USA star Tommy Paul in the semifinal clash of the Italian Open 2025. Notably, Sinner's mother was present in the stands while seen cheering for him with her husband. However, she made a surprising decision by walking away from the stadium.
The world number one didn't have the perfect start to his game. Though his quarter-final clash against Casper Ruud was sensational, where he defeated the Madrid Open champion in just 64 minutes, Sinner failed to repeat the same success in the semi-finals. Sinner faltered badly and lost the first set of the game. However, the Italian staged his comeback, and he won the next two sets to storm into the final showdown to set the stage against Carlos Alcaraz.

Why did Jannik Sinner's mom walk off in mid-game at the Italian Open 2025?
However, Sinner's mom was not able to bear her son faltering against Tommy Paul in the first set of the game, causing her to leave the stadium. Thereafter, she said that she rarely watches her son's live matches, as she is so fearful of doing the same. Her mom did not even return to the stadium despite the Italian sensation storming into the final showdown. Meanwhile, Sinner is set to hunt for the Italian Open title in his forthcoming game against four-time major champion Carlos Alcaraz.
"I left at the end of the first set. I'll take a walk around here and wait for the match to end. I never follow Jannik's entire matches live; it rarely happens. I prefer to stay in front of the TV. Only in Turin did I manage to see the final and a bit of the previous rounds. My husband stayed; he never has any problems. No, I'm not even thinking about it. I'll wait for it to finish; I'll continue walking. And anyway, as my son says, if things go badly, 'It's just a game," she said.
